Our past campaigns

#Vanishing – 2019-2020
Nature and wildlife are #vanishing at an alarming rate. From Scottish wildcats to nightingales, we need to make them visible once more.

Vote for Nature – December 2019
The 2019 General Election was a big moment for young people to show politicians of the UK how important nature was. We raised our voices loud.

Ban the Burn – October 2020
In 2019, the Government promised to ban peatland burning. Peatland burning releases 260,000 tonnes of CO2 per year and has huge impacts on climate and nature. We led the way calling on Governments to #BanTheBurn.

Ban peat imports – October 2020
Peat is precious. Not only are we destroying vital peatland carbon sinks in the UK, but we’re destroying peatlands in other countries, worsening our collective carbon footprint.

Nature Nearby – November 2020 to present
Access to nature should not be a privilege. We’re calling on UK governments to make sure that no one has to walk more than 10 minutes to access high quality nature – for our mental health, our physical health, and more nature.

Freshwater Pollution – January 2021
No freshwater habitats in the UK are in good condition, suffering from all kinds of pollution. We urge the Government to restore freshwater bodies to good health and make sure our water is no longer a threat to biodiversity and human health.

World Rewilding Day – March 2021
March 20th 2021 was the world’s first World Rewilding Day! We joined Heal to raise awareness. Check out our resources on how to make your local area wilder.

World Ocean Day – April-June 2021
Our ocean and seas need greater protections. Anchored by World Ocean Day (June 8), our campaign moved from the coasts to the High Seas, highlighting both the biodiversity and threats to our blue planet. August 2021 was supposed to see the signing of the High Seas Treaty but this was postponed, so campaigning for the ocean continues.
